Every Republican presidential candidate except Ron Paul supports E-Verify. This system allows businesses to verify the legality of an employee.
Medicaid and food stamps are federal programs administered by the states. Recipients should be required to prove they are citizens through E-Verify. The use of E-Verify would shut down jobs and welfare benefits for illegal immigrants.
Obama also overlooked the most important shovel ready job, an expanded border fence. If he had done that, taxpayers could have seen some benefit to his stimulus.
